How can I celebrate GAAD and share my commitment to digital accessibility?
What is GAAD?
Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) is an annual event that gets people talking, thinking, and learning about digital access and inclusion. Now in its 14th year, GAAD highlights the importance of making sure the internet is accessible to the more than one billion people worldwide who live with disabilities. This year, GAAD takes place on May 15, 2025.
If you're already working with accessiBe to make your website more accessible, you're part of the movement. And that’s something worth celebrating.
Why celebrate?
GAAD is your opportunity to proudly show your commitment to accessibility, raise awareness, and inspire others to take action.
Creating an accessible website helps build a more inclusive digital world. It also makes your business more welcoming, more trustworthy, and more aligned with today’s expectations around inclusion and equal access.
How to get involved with accessiBe
We’ve made it easy for you to join in. With just a few quick steps, you can showcase your support and amplify the message of inclusion:
1. Download the GAAD social media kit
Download our ready-made social post image, designed to fit any platform. It lets the world know your brand is working toward inclusion and that your website works for everyone.
2. Add accessible alt text
Make your post inclusive by adding alt text. For example:
A photo collage of people and animated characters with disabilities, set against a dark background. The text reads: “My website works for everyone. Does yours?” Below the text are the logos for GAAD and accessiBe.
For more information about writing excellent alt text, download our free guide.
3. Copy the caption or write your own
Feel free to use this caption or tailor it to your brand’s unique voice:
The web is better when it works for everyone! Every day, and especially this Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we are proud to champion a website that engages with more people and builds stronger trust in our mission. #TheWebIsForEveryone #accessiBe #GAAD2025
4. Post and tag accessiBe
Share your post on May 15 and be sure to tag @accessiBe. Don’t forget the hashtags:
